Sanitation Coordinator - Reading, PA

 

Guided by the vision, values and culture of Sun Rich, and the short and long-term business strategies and goals, the Sanitation Coordinator is responsible for the overall sanitation function in our Reading, PA facility. This position’s mandate is to ensure regulatory and health and safety requirements are met in regards to chemical handling and storage and to ensure that the Sanitation Department conforms to company Quality Assurance programs and systems.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and participates in the activities of employees engaged in sanitation duties.
  • Directs and participates in the cleaning and sanitizing of production equipment, work areas and non-production areas such as coolers and storage areas.
  • Inspects equipment for conformity to plant sanitation standards.
  • Reports to plant management and QA staff on sanitation issues and recommended solutions.
  • Identifies critical areas of concern and works in conjunction with Plant QA to ensure documented sanitation procedures are accurate and functioning.
  • Coordinates and administers training of sanitation staff and liaise with contracted chemical supplier.
  • Ensures all HACCP procedures relating to sanitation are carried out and documented, including cleaning accordingly.
  • Compiles necessary documentation timely and in an orderly fashion to ensure compliance to third party audits.
  • Monitoring cleaning chemical usage and ensuring correct concentration limits are adhered to.

Requirements:

Education & Technical Skills

  • Food Safety training as asset.

  • Experience in Sanitation process in a food production environment an asset.

  • Ability to fluently read , write and communicate in English.

  • Experience in working with chemicals by following the HAZMAT procedures.
