Safety & Training Coordinator - Reading, PA
Guided
by the vision, values, culture and business strategies of Sun Rich, the
Safety & Training Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and
improving facility safety and training requirements including OSHA
compliance, Employee Safety Training & Education and Positive Employee
Relations.
You
will be working closely with Operations Management & HR to bring our
value of Safety alive on the production floor and in the overall facility.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Ensure
continuous improvement in workplace safety through participation with
OSHA compliance
- Direct
and coordinate plant safety activities to assure compliance with
regulatory/corporate requirements
- Coordinate
safety training for hourly, salaried, , temporary and new personnel, and
maintain training records and documentation
- Establish
and coordinate facility audit and inspection programs to assure that all
plant operations are in compliance with Local, State, Federal and
company requirements. Participate during governmental health, safety, or
environmental inspections.
- Work
closely with Operations Management to bring our value of Safety to life
on the production floor and in the overall facility
- Support
and encourage people to do their best
Education & Technical Skills
- OSHA Certified
- 2-3 years of experience working with safety related programs,
supplemented by education in a safety related discipline or program.
- Experience in a food specific manufacturing facility is an
asset
- Working knowledge of GMPs and food
safety
- Must have excellent communication skills, be proactive, able
to teach people, and possess a positive, can do attitude
- Excellent computer skills (MS Word and Excel and Intranet)
