Dan O’Connell – Vice President, Operations

Dan came to Sun Rich in 2000 with 20 years experience in the food processing industry, and a background in technical operations, quality assurance, general management and serving as a President. These skills made him an irresistibly attractive candidate for Vice President and General Manager for the company's Southwest Business Unit, located in Corona, California, where his role was to develop and grow Sun Rich's business in the southwest, providing our customers with high-quality fresh fruit coupled with superior service.

In April 2004, Dan was promoted to Vice President, Operations, heading Sun Rich Operations and Quality Assurance teams in Vancouver, Los Angeles, and Toronto.

In the years before he joined Sun Rich, Dan graduated with a Bachelors degree from the University of Dayton, and a Masters Degree from the University of Nebraska.

He served as operations manager at Eckrich Meats and Foster Farms Poultry, and later as Vice President of Operations for Diamond Walnut of California. Here, he obtained experience in executive management, a skill set he enhanced at Cara Mia Foods, where he served as the president of a company specializing in marinated vegetables.

Dan resides in sunny California with his wife, Becky and daughter, Erin. In his spare time, you'll find him playing tennis and traveling, and extolling the virtues of international fine wines.
