Carl Svangtun, CGA – Executive Vice President - Chief Operating Officer Carl joined Sun Rich in 1994, coming from a background in restaurant accounting. In 1996 he was promoted to the position of Vice President and General Manager of the company's Northwest Division. In the spring of 2004, Carl was promoted to the role of Executive Vice President - Chief Operating Officer, overseeing all of Sun Rich's Operations, Sales, Marketing, and R&D. In this capacity, Carl is at the forefront of a North American team that aims to deliver a Fresh, Safe, Convenient experience to all of Sun Rich's North American customers and to continue to change the way North America serves and eats fresh fruit. Carl brings to this role an acute appreciation and understanding of the needs and expectations of foodservice operators. It's an insight he developed after an early initiation in the industry, delivering pizza and cooking at Wendy’s as a youth. Further experience was gained working in restaurant accounting over a 12-year period. Through that time he earned his CGA designation and worked at various establishments such as The Old Spaghetti Factory, Joe Fortes, Pizza Hut, Expo '86, Uncle Willy's and later in the context of his own consulting company, setting up new restaurant ventures. Carl was born in Vancouver, where he resides with his wife, Shelley and children Samantha and Christian. When he's not working, you'll find him running, golfing, and spending time with his family. < Back
