Brian Tieszen – President Brian is an entrepreneur through and through. He had an early beginning in the food industry, spending the first five years of his career at Safeway, where he was promoted to management. Brian enhanced his skills as a sales representative for Neptune Foods (now a GFS Canada company), one of BCs largest foodservice distributors. And later, as general manager at Central Foods, a Vancouver-based foodservice distributor, he honed his management capabilities. Brian has a sharp eye for detail and while working with suppliers of food to the grocery and restaurant business, he noticed a significant shortage of labor in restaurants and a burgeoning consumer demand for convenient, ready-to-eat fresh fruit. He envisioned a company that would provide superior quality, fresh-cut fruit to customers and suppliers, and by 1988, he had the background, experience and confidence he needed to launch Sun Rich. Initially, the company operated out of Vancouver’s produce terminal, but by 1993, it had outgrown that location and was ready for larger premises in Vancouver. Today, Sun Rich is a growing organization that boasts regional processing plants in Vancouver, Toronto and Los Angeles. Married to Kim and father to Jordan and Jessica, Brian’s passions include golf, jogging, rollerblading, travel and volunteer work. He remains at the helm of Sun Rich, ceaselessly challenging and inspiring the company to continue its tradition of and quest for excellence. < Back
